A downloadable game
This is a game for the 2024 DOS Game Jam, being developed using an updated DOS build of DIV Games Studio DX built on the DIV 2 release.
The project is a SNES Mode 7-style game of planetary defense: an Earth is enclosed in a protective shield, you are the ship tasked with defense and repair of the shield.
This is a prototype, all that I could finish in my available time during the Jam! You can navigate around a landscape with the arrow keys and watch a descending object that spawns at a random location when the game starts. Exit the game with Alt-X.
Despite the Jam ending before it's finished, I plan to continue developing this game because it's one I want to play!
Recommended system requirements (tested with 86Box):
- MSDOS 6+
- Pentium 133
- VGA (320x240)

Install instructions
The DOSBox zip file contains DOSBox-Staging with a preconfigured .conf to boot into the game.
The non-DOSBox zip file contains just the game folder, for use with your DOS/9x rig or VM.
Exit the game with Alt-X!

That's a promising start!
Nice work! Zipping around the terrain feels like it's straight from a late SNES game, really good. Looking forward to seeing where this goes
